## New features and enhancements

* mkvmerge: FLAC reader: pictures embedded into the FLAC file were already
handled as attachments, but they were left in the codec initialization data
as well. They're now removed from the codec initialization data. See #6079.
* mkvmerge: FLAC reader: padding metadata blocks will now be removed from the
codec initialization data. See #6079.
* mkvmerge: FLAC reader: embedded Vorbis comments will now be converted into
Matroska comments or track/global header fields when available (e.g. `TITLE`
will become the segment title & track's name, `LANGUAGE` will become the
track's language). Copying of Vorbis comments that are converted into actual
Matroska tags can be prevented with the usual options,
e.g. `--no-track-tags`. The comments will also be removed from the codec
initialization data. Implements #6079.
* mkvmerge, MKVToolNix GUI's chapter editor: when reading simple (OGM-style)
chapter files & no character set is given for the file, mkvmerge will try
UTF-8 first before falling back to the system's default encoding. Implements
#6084.
* MKVToolNix GUI: multiplexer: the special drag & drop zones added in v91 are
now shown by default in new installations.
* MKVToolNix GUI: in new installations the main window will now be sized at
75% of the screen's resolution initially with a certain minimum initial
size. This improves initial readability on high DPI screens that use screen
scaling factors such as 150%.

## Bug fixes

* mkvmerge: Ogg reader: during identification the track tags are now reported
properly.
* MKVToolNix GUI: multiplexer: within the "additional options", both
track-specific ones & the global ones on the "Output" tab, it wasn't
possible to specify empty (zero-length) arguments. With the intended syntax
of two consecutive single or double quotation marks the empty arguments were
simply skipped. This was fixed, and it is now possible to specify
e.g. `--title ""` in the global "Additional options" in order to force no
title to be written ever. Fixes #6087.

## Build system changes

* Windows build: the `packaging/windows/populate_installer_dir.sh` now expects
the user to pass the Saxon-HE's JAR file name to be passed with the `-s` or
`--saxon-jar` parameter instead of the base directory for Saxon-HE. This
allows newer versions of Saxon-HE to be used.

Added the "Move Column" tool. It allows you to specify where to move the column. Previously you could only move a column left or right, or drag and drop a column.
Added the ability to undo the "Import From Database" tool.
Set Entire Column: added a "Selected Rows Only" option.
Added to the Interface Settings the ability to control the spacing between toolbar icons.
Preferences: added the "Show Tab Balloons" option to the "App" tab. Previously tab balloons could not be disabled.
Status bar: the reported row number now takes into account sorting and filtering.
Preferences: added the "Recent Files: Show File Dates" option to the "Welcome" tab. Previously this option only appeared on the Recent Files list's context menu.
Save Document: the Character Set of the saved file is now reported on the status bar.
Added the "Shuffle Column" tool to the Tools menu. This ability already existed, within the Set Entire Column tool, however it makes sense to have a separate tool next to the Shuffle Rows tool.
Save Document: if the saved file is over 2 GB, there is now a warning that the file cannot be re-opened.
Preferences: added the "Show Toolbar" option to the "App" tab. Previously this only appeared on the Options menu.
Preferences: added the "Interface Settings" button to the "App" tab. Previously this tool only appeared on the Interface menu.
The two "Toolbar Reset" tools now appear on the toolbar's context menu. Previously they only appeared on the Options menu.
When prompting the user to enter a password, there is now a "Show Password" button.
Dictate: a message now appears on the status bar when dictation starts and ends.
Set Entire Column: Perform Math: if the entire column uses non-Arabic digits, then the results of the math will be stored using non-Arabic digits.
Export to JSON: the process of distinguishing numbers from strings now supports the system's "Time & Language" settings.
Export to JSON: when exporting numbers, the number is automatically reformatted from the localized format to JSON format.
Paste New File: for a large number of rows, this tool is now much faster.
Create Totals Row: if the table has no numeric columns, the error popup now has a button that will launch the Column Settings tool.
Graph: the fields for the four axis labels now have a drop-down list that remembers past inputs.
Close File: before asking if the user wants to save changes, the Cell Copy/Move/Swap mode will now be terminated.
Mouse tilt wheel: the operating system's tilt speed setting is now obeyed.
The "File Properties" tool is now visible on the toolbar by default.
Detect External Changes: this now detects if the size of the file has changed, not just the date.
Toolbar: added the ability to place the "Create Totals Row" tool on the toolbar, although it is hidden by default.
Import From Database: this now sets focus to the first imported row.
Fixed: Check For Update: if the download was aborted, the progress window was not being closed.
Fixed: when CSV Editor Pro is running and the system shuts down, the session could potentially fail to later restore.
Fixed: Tab Balloons were not appearing when the total width of the tabs was wider than the window, and the tab bar was scrolled to the right.
Fixed: when unchecking "No Column Names", if the table is empty, the user is no longer asked if the first row of data should become the column names, since there is no first row.
Fixed: Undo: undoing a change to the "8-bit ASCII (System Default)" Character Set would completely corrupt the entire table (since 28.0).
Fixed a rare crash at startup.
